This privacy notice applies to the website www.susanflockhart.com, which is used solely to advertise and sell original watercolour paintings and fine art prints. This website is run from Twickenham, UK, and you can contact us at any time on enquiries@susanflockhart.com.

This website is hosted by Squarespace, which collects personal data from you when you visit the website, submit an enquiry, subscribe to our newsletter or place an order for an artwork. The data that we collect is used solely for the following purposes:

  • Cookies

  • Analytics data about website visits
    Squarespace (our website provider) collects personal data for analytics purposes, to help us understand how people are using our website. This includes information about your IP address, browser, network, and device and information about your page visits, clicks, and searches. Squarespace uses this data to run the website and to protect and improve its platform and services. The data is analysed in a de-personalized form, to help us understand how visitors are using the website, so that we can improve it.

  • One-off customer enquiries
    If you submit an enquiry or comment using the contact form on our website, this captures your email address, name and message text and generates a one-off email to us, so that we can reply to your message.  This is treated as a one-off contact and does not cause your data to be added to our customer database or mailing list. 

  • Data about newsletter subscribers
    If you choose to subscribe to our website newsletter, your email address and name are stored in our mailing list and used to send occasional emails with news about our website or products. You can unsubscribe at any time by following the link at the bottom of each newsletter. 

  • Data about customer orders
    If you choose to place an order for an artwork, we collect the personal information that we need to fulfil the order and to keep you informed of its progress. This includes your name, email address, order details and shipping address.

    Our website does not store your payment & credit card information. All financial transactions are processed through one of our secure gateway providers: PayPal or Stripe, whose privacy policies can be seen at these links: Paypal’s privacy policy; Stripe’s privacy policy.

  • How long will we keep your information?
    One-off customer enquiries received in our email inbox are retained indefinitely so that we can recognise on-going customer enquiries and maintain a good standard of customer service. We are happy to delete this data, on request (see below). Data pertaining to customer orders placed via our website are retained for a period of not less than 6 years, for legal purposes.   • Your data protection rights

    Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask us to provide a copy of any personal information that we store about you, and to rectify personal information that you think is inaccurate. In some circumstances you can ask us to erase your personal information from our customer database or to restrict the processing of your personal information.
