'D is for Death' (watercolour and gold leaf on wooden panel)
This painting was inspired by a panel in the Hours of Dionara of Urbino (c1480 - 1520), which I suddenly felt the urge to paint during Halloween season. It’s a litle larger than my other miniatures - a 6” x 6” panel, presented within a 9½” wooden frame.
My version has been recreated, with the usual liberties and embellishments, using watercolour, casein and 23.75 carat embellished gold, mounted onto a wooden panel and varnished.
