Reynard the Fox (9.5" x 7.5")

£150.00

I love the way that a satirical from a 14th century manuscript can still resonate so well today. This orange menace is Reynard the fox, preaching to his flock of prey, and was Inspired by a little piece of marginalia in the Smithfield Decretals, a manuscript documenting the papal laws of Gregory IX.

My little tribute painting has been created, with the usual liberties and embellishments, using watercolour, ink and casein, embellished with 23.75 carat gold. The painting is varnished and mounted to a wooden panel and offered ready to hang in a beautiful 9½ x 7½” wooden frame

The listed price includes free UK shipping. I’m also very happy to ship worldwide - if you live outside the UK, please contact me to discuss preferred postage options for your country.
